Free exams, meals & more for vets in need this weekend in Spartanburg


SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Upstate Stand Down is this weekend in Spartanburg.

They will be providing medical screenings, dental exams, information about employment and housing opportunities, clothing, meals, haircuts, showers and more will be provided.

WHEN – Saturday Oct. 14, 2016 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE – Spartanburg Expo & Event Center

They say veterans from Anderson, Greenville, Greer and Spartanburg will arrive at the center and will be formally greeted with color guard and red carpet.

A second group of veterans from the Asheville-Hendersonville will arrive approximately 1000 hrs and be welcomed as well.

After registering the veterans, they will be escorted through different stations providing the services noted above and fed as well.

Clothing will be issued after lunch.
