SPARTANBURG CO., S.C. (WSPA) – Three teens are being charged as adults after a 20-year-old man was shot and killed during an armed robbery in Moore, according to Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputies.
Thompson Kotlarich Demas was found dead at his home on East Killarney Kale Road, according to Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger.
Keshawn Melvin Rice, 16, of Spartanburg, and three other people rode to Demas’ home to rob him, according to the incident report.
Deputies say Rice shot Demas in his garage, which caused injuries resulting in death.
Rice has been charged with armed robbery and murder, according to the incident report. Deputies are still searching for him.
The two other suspects are Kameron Tyjai Wilson, 16, of Lyman, and Elian Nava, of Spartanburg, who were charged with armed robbery for this incident.
Wilson is a Dorman High School football player, according to District 6 officials.
Deputies also have information about a fourth juvenile suspect who was involved, but he hasn’t been identified yet.
A car chased the suspect to Farrell Kirk Lane where he ditched the motorcycle and ran, according to police.
