The change in the high school football schedule (the SCHSL has pushed back the start of the playoffs by two weeks to November 18th due to issues in the eastern part of the state from Hurricane Matthew) has led area teams to adjust their schedule to avoid a gap of three weeks between their final regular season game and their opening round playoff game.

The following games have been moved from Friday October 28th:

Thursday November 3rd

Eastside at Wren, 7:30pm

Pendleton at Landrum, 7:30pm

Friday November 4th (All games at 7:30)

Abbeville at Ninety Six

Byrnes at Dorman

Woodruff at Clinton

Chesnee at CCES

Daniel at Pickens

SHS at Gaffney

B. Springs at Clover

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association announced its moving the start of its playoffs back by one week to also start on November 18th.  This means that state’s championships will now be played a week later (the weekend of December 16th and 17th) and thus could also cause potential conflict with some players who were selected to play in the December 17th Shrine Bowl.

Tuesday, the Shrine Bowl announced it would not change the date of its game and that it has contingency plans in the event players or coaches are unable to make the contest due to their respective state championships.
