UNION, SC (WSPA) – A Union County man was arrested after deputies say the 14-month old child he was caring for ended up in the hospital with injures to the face and head.
24-year-old Dillon Tanner Johnson was arrested and charged with felony Child Abuse after the incident in early September on Smithville Lane.
Deputies say the child was left in Johnson’s care by the child’s mother, Johnson’s girlfriend, while she left to get food. When she returned, she was told that the child fell out of Johnson’s arms.
The child was treated at the Union Medical Center before being transferred to Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Johnson is being held in the Union County Jail.
Johnson was out on bond following charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor in Spartanburg County in connection with a sexual assault that happened in November 2014.
