(WSPA)— West Washington Street Parking deck will be closed, weather permitting, beginning Friday, October 21 at 6 a.m.
The parking deck will undergo improvements, such as replacing the top coating with a water and wear resistant epoxy coating system.
The new surface will protect the parking deck from weather-related issues and also protect the Greenlink transit center and offices underneath, according to a news release.
During the closure, monthly parkers will be temporarily relocating to the ONE City Plaza Garage.
According to the release,
Over the next few weeks, the South Laurens Street loading zone closest to West Washington Street will be used as a staging area for the contractor’s equipment. Additionally, it may also be necessary to use the South Laurens Street loading zone on the West McBee Avenue end periodically. A map showing the affected loading zones is available at http://greenvillesc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/7180.
As a reminder, free weekend parking will still be available in the Richardson Street Garage from 6 p.m. on Fridays to 6 a.m. on Mondays.
