HENDERSONVILLE, NC (WSPA) – The GOP Headquarters in Hendersonville was evacuated Thursday afternoon.
Police say the chairman of the Henderson Co. GOP came into the department around 11 a.m. and said they had received two voicemails from an angry man.
The first voicemail said he was angry about GOP mailers left on his doorstep and said they were not allowed to trespass on his property.
The second was from the same caller who said he had planted a bomb at the GOP office and was going to blow up the building.
Dylan James Schacht,24, a Henderson Co. resident, was arrested, according to the police department.
He faces two felony charges. One of filing a false report concerning an explosive device and one charge of terrorism, according to police.
The police department came out with bomb sniffing dogs and found nothing on the property.
The office closed up for the day with the alarms on.
Schacht is being held at the Henderson Co. Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
