PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA)- A man from Central is facing child abuse charges after deputies say he caused multiple injuries to his four month old son.
The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Nicholas Kyle Brown Thursday.
Deputies say a local hospital notified them that they were treating suspicious injuries found on a four month old child.
Investigators say the infant had multiple injuries including skull fractures, multiple broken ribs and a broken arm.
They say a forensic examination showed that the abuse occurred over a period of time.
Brown is charged with Abuse/Inflicting Great Bodily Injury to a Child and was given a $40,000 bond.
Deputies say two other children in the home, ages one and four, were placed into foster care.
The four month old has also been placed into foster care and continues to recover. They say his injuries are not life threatening.
