A decades-old building in downtown Greenville will soon be demolished to make way for a new hotel.
The Wyche Law Firm building on Camperdown Road near Falls Park is in the process of being sold to The Kessler Collection, which specializes in luxury properties throughout the southeast including Asheville and Charleston.
Both parties declined to reveal preliminary sketches of the property or disclose the cost of the purchase.
“Both sides are excited about this deal,” said Ted Gentry, executive committee chairman for The Wyche Law Firm. “It’s going to be a good thing for Kessler. It’s going to be a good thing for Wyche and it’s going to be a good thing for Greenville.”
Kessler Collection CEO Richard Kessler told 7 News the hotel will have 160 rooms and will likely employ “between 200 to 250 people.”
The groundbreaking is scheduled for fall of 2017.
