GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – On October 22, Greenville Police responded to TD Bank on Wade Hampton Blvd. for a bank robbery.
They say their quick response and the information provided by the witnesses helped apprehend the suspect.
Rodney Nathaniel Torain is charged with Robbery / Entering bank, depository or building and loan association with intent to steal.
Police say he passed the teller a note saying he had a gun and to give him $2,500.
The clerk handed the suspect $500 and a red-colored dye pack, according to the warrant.
Police say they caught Torain a short time later with remnants of red dye on his hands and clothing.
They said he also had a toy gun wrapped up in his hoodie.
He was arrested without incident.
Deputies say a man broke in to a Union County house and vandalized it before severely beating the owner when she came home, Sunday.
They say John Paul Rains, 23, is charged with Unlawful Conduct Toward Child.
The victim is a 67-year-old man who had been hit in the head several times and strangled.
