HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Hernando County homecoming queen was pulling double duty Friday night. That’s because she was *also on the gridiron right before she was crowned.
Santina Paonessa is a varsity kicker for Nature Coast High School. Proudly wearing her football uniform, Santina rode onto the field with the rest of the competition before the half-time ceremony.
News Channel 8 caught up with the newly crowned queen about what this means to her. “This means everything to me. I’ve always want to be on homecoming court, let alone queen, and just being on the football team just makes it all the better,” Santina said.
