EASLEY, SC (WSPA)– Firefighters had to rescue a dog from a fire in Easley that nearly destroyed a home.
It happened on Fish Camp Road around 7 p.m. Monday.
The Easley Fire Department says the woman who lives there was able to get out safely. But firefighters had to go in and rescue her dog. They had to give the dog oxygen and it survived.
There were no injuries to the woman or firefighters but the home has major damage.
When firefighters got to the scene, the home was engulfed in flames. They were on the scene until 11 p.m. putting out the fire.
Firefighters were able to keep around half of the home in tact.
Investigators haven’t yet determined what caused the fire, but right now they don’t believe it is suspicious.
