Hundreds without power in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – Hundreds of people are in the dark after a power outage in Spartanburg County.

Duke Energy reports that 900 people are without power as of 9:28 p.m. Tuesday.

The outage was caused by a crash at the intersection of Valley Falls Road and Asheville Highway. A spokesman with Duke Energy said a vehicle hit a pole, causing the power line to come down.

He said power should be be restored to most customers by 11 p.m. However, some customers may not have power restored until 1 or 2 a.m. Wednesday.
