ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – A man has been charged in a deadly church bus crash that killed a woman and hurt over a dozen people.
The crash happened when a Homeland Park Baptist church bus collided with a truck near mile marker 11.
Shirley Ann Romine, 69, died two weeks after the September 26 on I-85 in Anderson County.
The driver of the pickup truck, Christopher Mezzapesa, 30, was charged with reckless driving after he rear ended the van causing it to swerve and turn over onto its side, according to SCHP.
He is now charged with reckless homicide death resulting within 3 years.
He is out on a $10,000 bond.
