SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Deputies say they have arrested a woman accused of murdering two people in a 2012 cold case.
Crystal Hawkins Johnson is charged with 2 counts of murder.
She was already in prison. She’s been there since July 9, 2015, for an unrelated conviction for 2 counts of child neglect, according to deputies.
Spartanburg Herald Journal reports that she and her newborn tested positive for meth and she had other children removed by DSS.
On June 25, 2012, at 4:19 AM, the Sheriff’s Office responded to Blanchard Rd. off of Old Canaan Rd. for a homicide.
Two victims, Anna Leigh Huckeba of Roebuck and Randy Dean Cochran of Moore, were found shot to death in a vehicle.
WHAT LED TO THE ARREST?
Deputies say they got a tip on the week of October 10, 2016.
Deputies say Johnson wasn’t the only person present when the murders happened.
