Sloan Construction Company is looking to hire new employees to work with them on a growing workload.
The construction company is currently working on paving Interstate 85 among other projects.
Sloan representative Casey Schwager said the work is fast paced and employees should be ready to work night and day shifts.
“We have a strong backlog of work right now, the strongest we’ve had in several years so right now were anticipating all of our crews working through the entire winter,” Schwager said.
Sloan is hiring people with commercial driver’s licenses, dump truck drivers, those who work with asphalt and workers willing to train on entry level positions leading to long-term careers.
The company offers a 401K plan, insurance and paid holidays with vacation time. You’ll work 50 to 60 hours a week during the peak summer workload.
Schwager said pay rates start at 11 dollars an hour for entry level jobs and it’s higher if you have more skills. On a road that claims the lives of drivers every year Schwager said this work is making Interstate 85 safer.
