SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – An Upstate firefighter charged with indecent exposure after a witness says she saw him pleasuring himself in a BI-LO parking lot.
Benjamin Pope was charged with two counts of indecent exposure and worked for the Croft Fire Department in Spartanburg, according to the chief of the department. He was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
According to the police report, a man in the BI-LO parking lot on Southport Road rolled down the windows on his SUV and asked the witness to stand there to block people from seeing him. The witness says she saw him pleasuring himself and jumped into her car and locked the door before the man sped away.
The report says the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office contacted the police to tell them that another victim at the Target Shopping Center was exposed to the genitals of who they believed was the same man.
