GREER, SC (WSPA) – The Greer Police Department is asking for your help to identify three people.
Police say they were involved in obtaining money by false pretenses at the Walmart located in the city of Greer.
It happened on 10/18/2016 around 1 p.m.
They say the suspects approached an 87-year-old man who was browsing inside of Walmart.
Police say the suspects convinced him that if he were to provide them with $3000 for a processing fee, they would split $60,000 with him.
The victim agreed to the transaction and allowed one of the suspects to ride with him as he went to Greer Citizen Building and Loan and withdrew $3000 from his account.
After getting the check, the victim drove to BB&T with the female subject in order for the check to be cashed.
The suspect got the and then didn’t give the victim the promised larger sum of money.
