MAULDIN, S.C. (WSPA) – Now that Halloween has come and gone, the sheep at Whispering Pines Farm, Dairy and Cheesery in Mauldin are enjoying snacking on the leftover pumpkins.
Debbie Webster of Whispering Pines says the pumpkins are a healthy treat for the animals.
“Instead of throwing it in some landfill, just give it to some animals and when the animals eat it, then it’ll end up going back to the ground and giving nutrients to the ground and it’s a great cycle that’s less wasteful than other ways,” Webster explained.
They ask that if you donate your pumpkins that they’re not rotten and don’t have wax or paint on them.
