SHELBY CO., AL (WSPA) – Colonial Pipeline Company says it will restart the line that transports gasoline on Sunday.
They have completed preparatory work.
They say the small fire at the site was put out overnight.
The started removing residual product from the line this morning.
Once they complete that, the segment of line will be removed and a new segment will be tested and installed.
They think that will be Sunday afternoon.
The say there has been no observable environmental imapcts on nearby waterways or drainage paths.
They say they deployed a containment boom at three locations on the Cahana River out of an abundance of caution.
They say the have pulled sediment and surface water samples and they are evaluated them.
