CLEMSON (WSPA) – With it already considered a given, and essentially confirmed by DeShaun Watson earlier this year, the Clemson quarterback is among four key players with eligibility remaining who will take part in Saturday’s senior day ceremonies prior to the game against Pitt.
Head coach Dabo Swinney confirmed at his weekly news conference Tuesday morning that Watson, wide receiver Artavis Scott, running back Wayne Gallman, and wide receiver Mike Williams will all take part in Saturday’s senior day ceremony.
“Those guys indicated to me this is it for them,” Swinney said. “They are more seniors than some of the seniors. (We’ll) honor the guys that their intentions are that they are not going to be back.”
“Deshaun only has five hours (left to graduate), he has earned that right in every regard.” Swinney added.
Each is considered a high NFL Draft pick with Watson and Williams likely to go very early in round one in the spring.
This season, Watson has passed for over 2,400 yards and 24 touchdowns and Gallman has carried for 634 yards and eight touchdowns.
Williams and Scott are the Tigers’ top two receivers wit 52 and 38 receptions, respectively.
