BOILING SPRINGS, S.C. (WSPA) — A Spartanburg County man is accused of exposing himself at a park and deputies say it was caught on video. Deputies also think there are more victims.
Stephen Lee Johnson, 52, of 105 Chandler Downs Trail in Inman, is charged with indecent exposure
A deputy responded Sunday to a sexual exposure at Va-Du-Mar McMillan Regional Park in Boiling Springs.
The victim said he noticed a man following him on a trail, according to an incident report.
He took different paths and even cut through some bushes, but said the suspect continued following him.
The victim, a concealed weapons permit holder, felt like something was wrong. He told a deputy that he took his handgun out of its holster and put it in his pocket as he walked behind a tree.
The suspect, later identified as Johnson, approached him with his zipper down and his penis exposed, the report states.
The incident was taped on the victim’s phone, according to the report.
The victim told the suspect to zip his pants, and said the suspect continued following him.
Johnson turned and ran when the victim told him he was calling police, the report states.
The victim chased him on foot and later in his car before returning to the park to speak with a deputy.
The Special Victims Unit of the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office arrested Johnson this week. Investigators think there may be other victims who didn’t report their crimes.
