HENDERSON CO., N.C. (WSPA) – An immediate mandatory evacuation has been issued for people living along Highway 64/7-A, Highway 9, and on Shumont Road, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
There is a shelter located at Bat Cave Baptist Church on Chimney Rock Road for these people.

The shelter is also open to Buncombe County residents who followed the voluntary evacuation that was issued earlier today.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office posted on their Facebook page, encouraging people to donate bottled water, Gatorade, soft drinks, snacks, and other supplies for the firemen and evacuees.
They say you can drop the donations off at WHKP’s “broadcast house” from 6:00 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
