GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) — Junior Achievement of Upstate SC organization will host the first ever “JAm Fest” Partners in Achievement Breakfast.
Organizers said the breakfast will help educate students and build the workforce for Upstate employers.
The event takes place at 7:15 am Wednesday and will wrap up around 8:30 a.m. at the One Conference Center at 2 West Washington St in Greenville, SC.
Speakers include Carlos Phillips, president and CEO of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, and a JA program graduate. He will address the impact of JA on his life goals and career development.
Other speakers include Junior Achievement of Upstate SC Board Chair-Elect Henry DuPre, Upstate Carolina Angel Network Managing Director Matt Dunbar, and Southside High School sophomore Melissa McMillian.
Organizers said Upstate employers cannot find enough trained workers with soft skills and real-world education. This organization goes into schools in the Upstate and helps students prepare to apply for jobs.
Organizers are inviting local business leaders, educators and students to learn about workforce preparedness work being done by JA in the Upstate and offering an opportunity to assist in this effort.
Please RSVP to Heidi Payne at 864-312-6626 or Heidi.Payne@ja.org to reserve your spot at the event and visit the website for more.
