LAKE LURE (WSPA) – Some residents of Lake Lure are being allowed back in their neighborhood.

Officials say the neighborhoods in Boys Camp Road will be opened for re-entry to residents starting (11/15) at Noon.

They will need to show proof that they live in the neighborhood to law enforcement at a check point.

The checkpoint located at or near the intersection of Highway 74-A/64 and Boys Camp Road.

Travel to this re-entry checkpoint must occur from the Lake Lure (south) side of Highway 74-A/64, and not from the Bat Cave (north) side of these highways, as the Village of Chimney Rock remains closed.

Those re-entering Boys Camp Road neighborhoods are not permitted to access the Village of Chimney Rock.

Any questions on this re-entry should be directed to the Party Rock Lake Fire Information Center at 828-513-2500 or 336-455-9641; or by email at partyrockfireinfo@gmail.com.
