GREENWOOD, SC (WSPA) – A Greenwood Co. teacher is accused of a sex crime with a 4-year-old girl, according to the sheriff’s office.
Michael Ren Gantt is charged with criminal sexual conduct 1st degree with a minor younger than 11.
The Russell Technology Center’s website lists Gantt as faculty working in Auto Collision repair.
The girl complained that Gantt had been touching her.
The investigator said the girl told them her mother told her not to tell any secrets or she would get into trouble.
The girl’s father said he believed that this had been an ongoing thing and that he could not tell exactly when it happened.
The girls couldn’t say when it happened either.
Greenwood School District 50 says Gantt is on administrative leave.
Gantt doesn’t have a criminal record according to a SC background check.
