GREENWOOD CO., S.C. (WSPA) – A teenager is dead after a shooting on Meadow Street, according to the Greenwood County Coroner.
Coroner Sonny Cox says 16-year-old Markevious K. Jackson died from injuries he received in the shooting.
The shooting happened around 6:39 p.m. Friday.
Officers found Jackson lying in the roadway when they responded to the shooting, police say.
Jackson was taken by EMS to Self Regional Healthcare, where he died from a single gunshot wound, the coroner says.
Greenwood Police Department is investigating Jackson’s death as a homicide.
