CHIMNEY ROCK, NC (WSPA) – Chimney Rock State Park will reopen Friday Nov. 25 at 8:30 a.m., according to the park.
The park was evacuated on Nov. 11 due to the Party Rock fire in the Hickory Nut Gorge area.
They say the fire did not affect any of the park.
They say very little evidence of the fire will be noticeable from the top of Chimney Rock Mountain because the fire burned lead litter and debris along the ground and did not climb into the tree canopy.
The recent wildfires that swept through parts of Upstate South Carolina managed to consume part of a forest managed by Clemson University.
The Pinnacle Mountain fire in Pickens Co. is now 100% contained according to the US Forest Service.
