CALHOUN FALLS, SC (WSPA) – The S.C. Law Enforcement Division is conducting an audit of the evidence room at Calhoun Falls Police Department.
The audit comes just three weeks after Chief J.T. Galloway was fired by city council.
Thom Berry, spokesman with SLED, said the audit is being conducted at the request of Mayor Johnnie Waller.
Audits are conducted when there are outgoing sheriffs and chiefs in case there may be questions from incoming leadership, according to Berry.
It’s not unusual for SLED to conduct these reviews.
Calhoun Falls council members voted to fire Chief Galloway on November 1. It was the second time in two years that Galloway had been fired by the city council.
