Monroe, Ga. (WSPA) – Authorities are searching for the pickup truck of a man found dead in his home.
Monroe police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) began a death investigation Saturday at a home on Baron Drive.
Officers found the body of Anthony Myron Sims inside his residence when they arrived around 12:05 p.m. Saturday. Earlier that day, a neighbor noticed a window at Sims’ home appeared pushed in.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Sims, 59, was murdered, according to a news release issued by GBI.
The victim’s pickup truck is missing and authorities think it was taken during the murder.
The truck is a 2002 dark blue Dodge Dakota with a Georgia tag DP9TEJ.
A nationwide BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued Saturday, but the truck had not been found as of Monday.
If you see the truck or people inside the truck, you’re urged to contact law enforcement immediately and should not approach the vehicle or occupants under any circumstances.
