GSP INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WSPA) – The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year.
More than 3.5 million people will be flying to their Thanksgiving destination, and some of them are flying out of GSP International Airport. GSP officials expect more than 31,000 travelers to pass through the airport over the Thanksgiving holiday.
To make sure your travel goes smoothly, airport officials have some last minute reminders for airline passengers to remember.
Officials say you need to get to your flight at least two hours early in case there are longer lines at check-in and TSA screenings. You should also factor in the commute to the airport, and anticipate more traffic on the roadways as peeple head to their Thanksgiving destinations.
The travel experience starts at home, so travelers are encouraged to double-check their bags for any items that could hold them up at TSA.
The biggest thing you need to remember is to pack your patience. If you have one of the more popular departure times, you need to plan ahead and be prepared for longer lines.
