GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – About 400 people showed up at the Salvation Army in Greenville Thursday for a free Thanksgiving Meal.
Lines started to form well in advance of the noon mealtime and continued to grow throughout the day. The meal included turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and cakes.
Organizers spent days planning and preparing the menu.
“It’s really is wonderful to see the smiles and people having such a good time when their luck might have not been so good during the year,” said Vickie Browning, a volunteer with the Salvation Army.
Workers stopped serving around 2:00p.m.
