Armed robbery at Sonic on E. Main St. in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG CO., S.C. (WSPA) – There was an armed robbery at the Sonic Drive-In on E. Main Street, according to the Spartanburg Police Department.

The incident happened at about 5:40 p.m. on Friday.

A man walked into the business with a knife, and grabbed one of the employees, police say.

He then put the knife to her throat and demanded money, according to police.

They say he took an undisclosed amount of cash and left the business.

The suspect is described as a white male and was wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood, a black backpack, blue jeans, and a black scarf over his face during the incident.

The Spartanburg Police Department is investigating the incident.
