WELLFORD, SC (WSPA) — Firefighters were called to Hollywild Animal Park just after 5:10 Saturday morning, according to dispatchers.

Dispatchers say they received a 911 call about a potential house fire in the area.

When crews got closer, they realized the fire was inside the Wellford animal park.

Hollywild Executive Director, Kim Atchley, tells 7News that the fire appears to have started at the concessions building in Santa’s Village.

During the holiday season, that area is a stop at the end of the Holiday Lights Safari drive where you can feed animals, buy food, and visit gift shops.

Atchley says no animals were hurt and that the ‘Holiday Lights Safari’ will continue running nightly as planned.

7News was there as Holly Springs Fire Department started leaving the property around 7:30am.

Investigators have not released what started the fire.
