PICKENS CO., S.C. (WSPA) – Firefighters continue to cut in containment lines as the fire has moved slowly throughout the day, according to officials.
The primary focus today was on Slickum Falls Road where burnout operations caused heavy smoke.
In other areas, crews continued their hold on existing lines and monitored for hot spots.
The size of the fire is now at 9,566 acres.
The fire is 50% contained, according to officials.
There are no current evacuations.
Table Rock State Park and the trail system remain closed, but is tentatively expected to re-open Monday at noon.
Some trails and interior areas of the park will remain closed due to fire activity.

Teams are still working to protect structures in Pickens County, Greenville County, and Transylvania County.
The estimated cost to date is $4 million.
No injuries have been reported.
