Man killed in shooting, wife charged with murder in Anderson Co.

CENTERVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Deputies have arrested a woman in connection with the shooting death of her husband early Monday morning in Anderson County.

Deputies were called to the scene on Cherry Drive just before 4 a.m. and found 60-year-old Ronnie Everett Selvey dead on the kitchen floor with several gunshot wounds.

Selvey’s wife, 59-year-old Janet Sue Selvey, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

According to warrants, Janet hit her husband multiple times with an object before shooting him with a handgun. The warrants say the shooting was not self-defense.

Investigators say the shooting may have stemmed from an argument that began the previous evening.

Janet Selvey was denied bond on Tuesday. She’s is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center.
