PRETORIA, South Africa (WCMH) – Video from a South African man shows a large snouted cobra emerging from a toilet before escaping back into the sewer system.
Video posted to YouTube by Anton Meijer shows a snake handler trying to remove a 2.5 meter long snake from a toilet. Meijer said it got agitated and fought back before escaping back into the sewage pipe.
Residents along the block of flats now have no idea where the snake could pop up next.
“People are talking about taking matters into their own hands now. They are gatvol,” one resident told News24.
Snake catcher Barry Greenshields says he has put cameras in the pipes in an attempt to find it. He said that a lack of food could lead to restricted movement on the part of the snake. Snakes, however, have the ability to for weeks without eating.
