Clemson’s DeShaun Watson is a Heisman Trophy finalist for the second straight year, meaning he’ll be in New York City this weekend for Saturday’s announcement of the award given by the Downtown Athletic Club to the top player in college football.
Louisville’s Lamar Jackson (QB), Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield (QB) and Dede Westbrook (WR), and Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers (LB) are the other finalists.
Voting by a nationwide panel of media members and former Heisman winners concluded at 5pm Monday.
Watson, who finished third in the voting last year, made a November push this season with 1,419 total yards and 15 touchdowns in four games.
He then amassed 373 total yards and accounted for five touchdowns in Saturday’s ACC title game win.
For the season, Watson has accounted for 4,443 total yards and 43 touchdowns.
