Duke crews replacing pole, hundreds without power in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG CO., S.C. (WSPA) — Hundreds of people are without power Monday morning after an equipment malfunction.

Duke Energy is reporting that 633 customers are without power in Spartanburg County.  About 550 customers are in the Valley Falls area.

A spokeswoman said that a piece of equipment malfunctioned and damaged part of a pole. Crews are replacing the pole as of 10:40 a.m. Monday. Duke estimates that power will be restored by 4:30 p.m. Monday.
