SPARTANBURG CO., SC (WSPA) – Tax notices have been delayed in Spartanburg County, according to Auditor Sharon West.
West said they began mailing tax notices last Thursday and the bulk will go out this week.
Notices are usually mailed out before now.
West said they rely on several agencies to provide tax information in order to calculate the taxes.
One agency updated their computer system and there was an error that resulted in wrong tax amounts, according to West.
Taxpayers have until Jan 17 to pay without penalty.
You can go online by tomorrow to review tax information or call the office at 864-596-2600 or treasurer’s office for assistance with web site.
West says Spartanburg County has more taxing districts (over 350) than any other county in SC, which further complicates the process.
