SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A community is coming together to show support to the family of a man who died after a car crash. Tom Sheriff was with his wife on the way to close on their new home when the crash happened at the corner of Pine Street and Pearl Street in Spartanburg on November 23.
“Someone ran a red light and clipped the end of them and it flipped them like three times and partially ejected Tom,” said Billie Davis, the realtor helping the Sheriff family in their search for a house.
A week later, Tom passed away, leaving behind his wife and four young boys.
“The responsibility of four children and Tom was the main bread winner,” said Davis. “They won’t close on this house, you know because he was their support.”
A Gofundme page has been set up to help. The crash happened the day before Thanksgiving and now the boys will spend Christmas without their dad.
“Just the financial burden of everything already and then to have four children, four boys to try to make a somewhat of a Christmas, knowing that it’s not going to ever be the same,” said Davis of the need.
