GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – A woman was arrested after troopers say she left the scene of a crash that killed a man on White Horse Road in Greenville County.
Valerie Denise Bayne was charged with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death and driving under suspension.
She was issued a $1275 on a Driving Under Suspension.
They are holding her for circuit court, because it falls under a violent crime and the magistrate judge can’t set bond for that.
The crash happened in the early morning hours of November 27 when Mario Penaloza Piza was struck by multiple cars on White Horse Road.
The coroner has said Piza, 42, of Asheville was crossing the road when he was struck by cars and died at the scene of multiple blunt force injuries.
Bayne is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court for a bond hearing Friday afternoon.
Bond has been denied for the Florence man accused of pouring gasoline on his wife and then lighting her on fire.
An arrest was made in an animal cruelty case that broke hearts across Florida.
