BOILING SPRINGS, S.C. (WSPA) – A 9th grader at Boiling Springs High School has been arrested after admitting to posting a picture and message on social media that implied a threat of violence towards the 9th grade campus, according to Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The student was suspended from school and charged with disturbing school.
Another student saw the post online and told administrators, the sheriff’s office says.
Once they were aware of the post, staff members immediately notified the school’s resource officer.
Spartanburg School District 2 sent out the following statement regarding the incident:
As always the safety of our students is our number one priority and threats of any kind toward our students or staff will be taken seriously and investigated.”
