Wofford Faces Youngstown State

Wofford visits Youngstown State Saturday at 2pm in the third round of the FCS Playoffs.

The Terriers announced Friday that Brandon Goodson would get the start at quarterback despite suffering a sprained ankle in the third quarter of last Saturday’s win at The Citadel. True freshman Joe Newman came on in relief in that game and guided the team to its go-ahead scoring drive.

A win puts Wofford in the FCS Semifinals for just the second time and first since 2003.

The Terriers last made the quarterfinals in 2012.

Wofford is 10-3 on the season and faces the Penguins at the site of the program’s first-ever game as a Division I program to begin the 1996 season.
