Man, child critically injured in Greenville house fire

Firefighters responded to Perry Ave. in Greenville at 10:30pm Thursday.

GREENVILLE (WSPA)–A man and three-year-old child have critical injuries after firefighters pulled them from a burning home. Greenville Police Arson Detectives are investigating a cause.

Greenville Police say it happened around 10:30pm on Perry Avenue.  Once fire and police arrived on the scene, the home was filled with fire upstairs.

Firefighters made it inside and rescued a 3-year-old boy and a man who were upstairs.  EMS took them to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Four other people were able to safely get out of the home when the fire started.

Police tell 7News they believe the fire may be accidental. Fire officials have ruled out suspicious activity.

The Red Cross is helping the family.
