(CNN) – President-elect Donald Trump is picking Republican South Carolina Representative Mick Mulvaney to be the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, according to senior Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway.

If confirmed by the Senate, Mulvaney would manage the White House’s annual proposed budget, program, and policies.

Mulvaney didn’t initially support Trump for President but changed his mind after House speaker Paul Ryan backed the Republican nominee.

Mulvaney has said that one issue he wants Trump to detail his plans on is federal spending and debt.
