EASLEY, S.C. (WSPA) — Pickens County deputies say a man was shot after answering the front door at his home on Stonewall Farm Road in Easley.
The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. Saturday. Deputies arrived on the scene just before 8 p.m. after receiving reports that a person had been shot once in the lower arm.
Investigators say the homeowner answered a knock at his front door and spoke to a man he didn’t know. Deputies say the stranger asked to speak with someone who used to live at the home. After the homeowner told him that the person he was looking for had not lived at the home for more than a year, deputies say the suspect got angry and shot the homeowner with a small caliber handgun.
The victim was struck in the lower arm.
The suspect was last seen walking away from the scene on foot.. Deputies say the suspect is described as having red hair, about 6 feet tall with thin build, and wearing a dark colored shirt and blue jeans.
The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
