HAYWOOD CO., NC (WSPA) – North Canton Elementary School in Haywood Co. is off lockdown as off 5 p.m., according to the Mountaineer.
The school says a person legally taking target practice caused the lockdown.
The building is clear and everyone is safe.
Parents of students in the afterschool program were notified and are now able to come onto campus to pick up all remaining students.
