GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – One man died and several others were hurt after a car crash that ended in the parking lot of a mechanic.
The accident happened at about 2:45 p.m. Monday on Cedar Lane Road in Greenville.
The coroner says 28-year-old Jorge Renteria Maranda died at Greenville Memorial hospital from injuries he received in the crash.
Maranda was turning on to Worth Street from Cedar Lane when he was struck by another car, according to the highway patrol. Both vehicles ended up in the parking lot of the auto repair shop. Maranda’s vehicle hit 4 parked cars. The other driver hit one vehicle.
The driver of the other car and two passengers were taken to the hospital with injuries. All were wearing seatbelts, according to Highway Patrol.
The SC Highway Patrol and MAIT team is investigating.
