High-speed chase through 2 Upstate counties ends in crash

GREENVILLE, Co., S.C. (WSPA)– The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating a high-speed chase that ended in a crash Monday night around 10:50.

Troopers says speeds reached almost 100 miles per hour during the pursuit through Pickens and Greenville counties before ending 30 minutes later on Geer Highway in the Slater Marietta community.

The SUV they were chasing blew a tire and the troopers were able to pin the vehicle alongside an embankment before they pulled the driver out and arrested him.

No one was hurt in the crash.

Wyatt Blayne Darnell, 20, is charged with:

Failure to stop for Blue Light
Driving Under Suspension 2nd / Non DUI
Methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute
