GREENVILLE (WSPA) – The Julie Valentine Center is hosting its annual luncheon Tuesday to help raise money for victims of child abuse and sexual assault.
The center raised nearly $140,000 at last year’s event.
The Julie Valentine Center helps victims of child abuse and sexual assault free of charge. Along with counseling to help emotional recovery, the center also provides legal counseling, medical treatment, and assists police investigations.
“Greenville County has the highest rate of child maltreatment, as well as the highest rate of reported sexual assault,” says Executive Director Shauna Galloway-Williams. “It’s a critically important service that we provide, not only to prevent this from happening, but to address these issues and provide support once someone has been impacted by it.”
The luncheon is sold out for this year, but you can still donate to the Julie Valentine Center here.
